Activated platelets in PRP release numerous growth factors and cytokines from their granules, including

There are 2 methods to deliver PRP.

• By injections in the scalp using an insulin syringe
• By mesotherapy/microneedling using very fine needles

Most patients tolerate the procedure well. We also apply numbing cream or give local anaesthesia to numb the scalp for some time.

PRP preparation from blood collection to separation takes around 45 minutes. The injection process takes 5 minutes followed by LLLT (Low Level Laser Therapy) for 10 mins. This amounts to a total 1 hour per visit.

Yes, this is just an office procedure. You may resume work immediately. We will provide you with a surgical cap to be worn after the procedure.

• You should avoid direct sun and dust exposure for the first 24 hours. 
• You should wash your hair the next day.

PRP is safe and minimally invasive. There is no risk of infection/allergy when the procedure is performed by a qualified dermatologist. Following minor side effects may occur which are short lasting and manageable with medicines.
